Author Guidelines

Requirements for the articles

  1. The content of the article should correspond to the subject of the journal.
  2. The volume of the article is 17-23 thousand printed characters (with spaces), including an abstract, keywords, tables, figures and a bibliographic list.
  3. Articles are published in Russian, Tatar, English, German, French, Turkish, Chinese, Spanish, and Italian.
  4. The article must meet scientific criteria (relevance, scientific novelty, etc.).

  1. References to publications of the last 5 years by both domestic and foreign researchers should be given preference. The Journal publishes materials that have not been published or submitted to other editors earlier. Minor corrections of stylistic and formal nature are made in the article without agreement with the authors. If serious corrections are necessary, they are agreed with the authors or the article is sent to the authors for revision. Manuscripts are not returned to the authors.
  2. The Editorial Board of the Journal accepts articles exclusively in electronic form (Word format, .doc file type) to the electronic address of the Journal: kaz-linguo-journal@mail.ru
  3. The UDC index must be indicated at the beginning of each submitted article. The UDC index is determined by the author independently.https://www.teacode.com/online/udc/
  4. The abstract in Russian and English should include a characterisation of the main topic, the problems faced by the author, the goals of the work and its results. It is not recommended to provide quotations from the text of the article. The average length of the abstract is from 150 to 250 All key words (5-7 concepts, terms) should be used in the text of the abstract. Abstract and keywords: font Times New Roman, 12 point font, line spacing 1.15.
  5. The text of the scientific article should be designed on a sheet of A4 format according to GOST standard 9327-60, orientation portrait, font Times New Roman, font size 14. Line spacing 1.5.

  • Margins: top and bottom – 2 cm, left and right – 2 cm.
  • Paragraph indent – 1.25.
  • Alignment of the text of the article by width.
  • Letter spacing – normal.
  • Square brackets – on the Latin keyboard.
  • Interword space – one character. Spaces are compulsory after all punctuation marks (including the period), in the abbreviations no spaces are put.
  • Two punctuation marks in a row are not separated by a space, for example: M., 1995. In personal names, elements are not separated by spaces, e.g.: A.S. Pushkin.
  • A hyphen should be distinguished from a dash, for example: literary-artistic (hyphen), Russian literature of the late XIX – early XX century (dashes with spaces on the left and right, without spaces – in numbers and dates, for example: 1960–1970, pp. 52–65.
  • Hanging articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and illogical transpositions are not allowed.
  • In Russian text quotation marks in the text of the article are French («herringbones»), “English double inverted commas” are used in the text in English. Inside the quotation – German (,,paws“).
  • When translating the meaning of a foreign word use English single (‘Marrow’) inverted commas.
  • Roman numerals are typed using the Latin keyboard.
  • The Russian letter ё / Ё is replaced by the letter e / E except in contexts and proper names important for meaning distinction, e.g.: Генрих Бёлль.
  • When typing, no styles are allowed and no columns are set.
  • No spaces between paragraphs.
  • Highlights in the text should be made according to the following rules: bold for headings and subheadings, light italics for short examples.
  • Artistic texts, historical sources should be in the original language, when translating the text, the author of the translation should be indicated.
  • The quality of illustrations should be maximum (not lower than 600 dpi). Illustrations should be attached to the article as a separate file in jpeg format and should be captioned in Russian and English, indicating the place of the illustration in the article. Captions to illustrations are duplicated in a separate file.

The bibliographic list shall be arranged as follows:

  • List of sources (centred, bold, without colons and full stops);
  • The formatting of the list of references is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the “Vancouver style” with the indication at the end of the source index of the unique digital object identifier (Digital Object Identifier, DOI), registered in the CrossRef DOI search is carried out on the site http://search.crossref.org, for this purpose it is necessary to enter the title of the article in English into the search line.
  • Vancouver Citation Style (Vancouver Citation Style, 1973) is a sequential numerical style in which references to sources are numbered [in square brackets in Arabic numerals] as they are mentioned (cited) in the text, not in alphabetical order: [1] – when the reference is to a work, without reference to a specific page or range of pages; [1, p. 20] – when the reference is to a specific page or range of pages.
  • References (centred, in bold, without colon or full stop); list of references translated into English (order according to the list of references).

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscripts are accepted if has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

  2. The materials should be prepared in a format OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or World Perfect.

  3. Internet links are provided as a complete URL. 

  4. Text should be typed with an interval of one and a half line spacing, font Times New Roman, 14 pt; to highlight the accents it is recommended to use italics rather than underlining (except Internet links). All images, graphics and tables are placed within the text according to the meaning of the particular part of text  (and not at the end of the document).

  5. Text should follow the stylistic and bibliography requirements as stated in  Regulations  located in the Part "About Us." 

  6. Please, remove the authors' names from the title of the article and other parts of the document to ensure the  anonymity of reviewing.

Specified when registering the names and addresses will be used solely for technical purposes of a contact with the Author or reviewers (editors) when preparing the article for publication. Private data will not be shared with other individuals and organizations.
