Abstract

This article aims to understand, first of all, the constitution of the notion and concept of subject based on linguistic experiences and social relations. The concepts of subjectivity, linguistic acquisition, cultural immersion, theory of knowledge and social subject shall be of fudamental importance to clarify the assumptions here intended. The concept of subject refers to a discursive reality and, therefore, does not coincide with the subject of reason whose experiences are located in consciousness or pragmatic rationality. This understanding shall lead us to subjectivity, since, in the field of linguistics, it is about the speaker's capacity to propose him(her)self as a subject, that is, it refers to a thinking self, to consciousness, to the spirit or to the mind as a cognitive faculty and foundational principle of knowledge. This article shall also seek to explain the different notions of subject and the production of meaning between them. To do so, the contributions of González Rey are taken into account in his argumentation on the subjective dimension of personal meaning and individual and social subjectivity.
